It’s important to ensure that social media accounts are secure from hacks, accidental or intentional.
To make sure the City is able to control outbound posts, all content must be scheduled through Hootsuite, the City’s social media management system. Contact the City’s social media lead using the form on the Contact page to get connected.
If a cyber attack is suspected, please screenshot the offending content before deleting it. Then contact NYC Digital, the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) and your City Hall press point, who will advise you on next steps.
