Conference Accessibility

In our previous conferences, we made sure to uphold the highest level of accessibility features that we could offer. This years conference is no different. The website, materials and event are accessible. Continue reading for more details.

Platform Accessibility

This year, the conference is completely virtual. This will allow us to reach more folks! We will stream on Zoom Webinar for those who register. For those who do not wish to register for the evet, we will also live stream the event on the Disability Unite website.

Zoom Accessibility

The Zoom webinar platform is accessible and offers the following features:

  • Compatible with screen readers
  • Is keyboard accessible and has keyboard shortcuts

For those who will be joining us on Zoom Webinar,automated captions will be available. Presenters will also make an effort to do image descriptions of themselves and the content they are presenting. American Sign Language, live captions and Audio description will be available while streaming  the conference on the Disability Unite website.

Disability Unite Accessibility

The Disability Unite website was created with accessibility in mind. Folks who would like to join the stream on the website will be able to access the stream with the following accessibility features:

  • ASL interpretation for the entire day
  • Live captions for the entire day
  • Audio Description for the introduction and the social media and videos sections. Note: presenters will be doing image descriptions for all other sections.
